Puerto Vallarta Weather

Weather in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is tropical and temperate, part of what makes it such an ideal escape for sunny beach vacations. During the majority of the year from December to June, the average daytime temperatures hover around 86 °F (30 °C) while average lows temperature are 70 °F (21 °C). Humidity during this time is 75 percent and there is the least amount of cloud cover in the months February, March and April.

From mid-June to September, the Puerto Vallarta weather forecast reflects soaring humidity and temperatures during the wet season, when monsoon-like rainfall is common during the evening and precipitation is concentrated in these large tropical storms. The tropical surroundings blossom during these months and foliage becomes overgrown in abundance. August is considered to be the wettest month, with as many as 14 days of significant rain.

Hurricanes, however, are quite rare. The last one was in 2002 when Hurricane Kenna, a category 5 storm, made landfall 100 miles northwest of Puerto Vallarta, causing some flooding and damages in the city.
