Come with us to discover the great HUICHOLES, who are the Aztecs' legacy in the 21st century.
Travel north of Nayarit state to take in the beautiful sights of typical little towns and rudimentary production. The thickness and greenery of the tropical jungle will amaze you along the route. The first stop will be at “Rincon de Guayabitos” for breakfast.
We will continue driving towards Tepic, the state's capital. Heading a bit northeast, the mountain (3,000 feet above the sea level) will surprise you with beautiful and colorful nature on our way to the historic and majestic city of Compostela.
Passing by “Puga” (sugar factory), we will head toward the Indian community called “Nueva Valey,” populated by 130 natives who will welcome us with a ceremony performed by the high ranked member of the Huichol community “Marakame.” They will let us in their ‘Cali-Huey’ (Huichol Temple) while they present their splendid music and dance (photography allowed). This is an excellent opportunity to buy authentic Huichol Handicraft.
Last we will head for our three-course meal before going back to Puerto Vallarta
